Child Abuse Statistics - UK and US
The United States hold one of the highest rates for child abuse, losing around four to seven children on average every day to abuse and neglect (ChildHelp, 2020).
As there is more exposure about warning signs of child abuse, it can be easier to identify victims and report the crime anonymously.
Crime surveys in England and Wales estimated that around 8.5 million people aged 18 to 74 years old have experienced at least one form of child abuse before the age of 16 (GOV UK, 2020).
The data from the UK and US suggest that child abuse and neglect is a significantly common issue that many children lose their lives from and suffer from young ages.
